Faz Aftab

Faz Aftab is Google's Director of GenAI and Gemini for Global Partnership EMEA. As a leader in digital transformation and AI innovation, she is responsible for forging the critical third party data partnerships required to power Google's Gemini, GenMedia, and core research models, playing a pivotal role in accelerating Google's AI-first journey.

Previously at Google, Faz drove the expansion of the G1 subscription business and Gemini adoption across EMEA, structuring first-of-its-kind AI partnerships (e.g., with EE) and steering multi billion dollar strategic deals (e.g., with Vodafone). Before joining Google in 2021, she spent a decade at ITV, significantly transforming their digital landscape as Director of Strategic Partnerships & Distribution. Her tenure included scaling platforms from 4 to 25, reaching 30M+ users, chaired Freesat through its landmark merger with Digital UK, a major public service broadcasting initiative uniting all five UK PSBs (BBC, ITV, C4, Channel 5/Viacom), and establishing ITV as the first UK broadcaster with live IP streaming.

With over 20 years shaping Digital Media and Subscriptions, including a decade focused on start-up expansion, Faz has a proven track record in complex global partnerships, scaling

platforms, and exceeding growth targets. A passionate advocate for diversity in tech and a mentor to underrepresented talent, she is also a trustee of Comic Relief. Faz lives in the UK with her husband and three daughters.
