Florian Block is a Professor of Digital Creativity at the University of York, where specialises in leveraging AI and emerging creative technologies for real-time immersive storytelling and audience engagement.
He is also R&D Lead for AI and Immersive at dock10, the UK's leading TV production facility. He is responsible for developing dock10’s adoption of emerging creative technologies, with a focus on AI and immersive content production.
Working across industry and academia, Florian has directed major R&D initiatives at the intersection of AI, immersive technology and creative practice. He was the Principle Investigator and R&D Director for Weavr (weavr.tv), a £7.2m flagship project of the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund for the Creative Industries.
